One of the best things about running a rescue centre is when a pet is placed with its Forever Home. A place where they will be loved and cared for 'til the day they die.

Past successes: Pre-2005 / 2005 / 2006 / 2007 / 2009

Gem (January 2008)

Owner's Update:

"Just to let you know Gem settled in perfectly. What a dog! On the first night we showed Gem the house from top to bottom which she sniffed all over. She ate tea and then acted like she'd been here for years. Going upstairs checking things out, watching us put baby to bed and then sitting with us while we watched TV. Took her for a walk before bed and she's good on the lead, except when cars pass then she's spooked and steps away. If she sees a car coming, she hides in a gateway while it passes; it's quite funny! Her first night she never made a sound.

She's grown in confidence and gets on with us all, even the baby. Gem will lay by her on her bed. Gave her a bath yesterday, she never moved or made a sound until I'd finished. Then she ran round the house in excitement. Sam loves her but it's me Gem follows. If I go to the shop or in the car she sits and cries until I get back then she jumps about, wagging her tail; something which never stops moving.

We walk every morning and night. She knows when I get my coat what's happening. She's a fast learner and adorable. Thanks for such a fantastic lovable dog."

Storm and Cloud (April 2008)
Both buns are happy in their new home.

Owner's Update:

"The two buns are exploring their run. What a curious and happy pair. There's much binkying here. We've let them out into their fenced bit of garden, so they can run around until bedtime. Their hutch is in the same fenced area so they can get inside whenever they need to and there's plenty of shade for when it gets hot. The guinea pigs have a run nearby so they can wave to each other. Should be able get a bit of weight off Cloud now!"

Ollie (was Ginger) (July 2008)

Owner's Update:

"In July we got Ginger (renamed Ollie) as a companion for Mollie. He had his snip and recovered well. It took a few weeks for them to get used to each other but they are now good friends. Ollie moved in with Mollie about three weeks ago. He loves the greenery in the garden and eats well. He's putting on weight and with running around in the garden he's getting fit too. Initially he lost some fur and had a skin irritation, which has been looked at by the vets, but now has full soft fur again. The vets think it was stress and change of diet. Essentially he's enjoying Mollie's company and his new surroundings. I enclose a few pictures."

Holly, Polly or Poppy (July 2008)

Owner's Update:

"Just to let you know our puppy has settled in well - loves Barney although he's still not too sure yet - she's a bit small and noisy for him at the moment. She eats and sleeps well and although very small has a huge set of lungs. We've not decided on a name yet - thinking about Holly or Polly or Poppy, and we're off to the vets today for a check-up."
